When tracking wildlife in their natural habitat we look for signs of their presence. A few key pieces of evidence that an animal is near is scat (feces) and foot tracks; in African foot prints or tracks are called spore. Can you see the outline of the elephant track in the picture below?
In addition, you must keep your eyes open at all times. Animals do an amazing job at blending into their environment. Elephants, in particular, are masters of camouflage. From a distance the object in the next picture may look like a big boulder or a giant mound of dirt, but would you believe it is actually an elephant’s back covered in mud?
